CUSJ is an outreach arm of the Unitarian Movement in Canada that works to correct injustice wherever it may appear in the world. This is done by communicating with those in positions of power who may be able to influence decisions that can stop such injustices.

We publish the newsletter “JustNews” which promotes justice-related issues, as well as in-depth discussion papers on specific areas of concern.  We publish a website designed to show the issues we are involved with and to help congregations get involved.  We also lend moral and (limited) financial support to other organizations that are working for civil liberties and similar causes both in Canada and abroad.

This work is financed solely by the membership dues paid by our members, donations and contributions from congregations.  All members of the board and newsletter teams donate their time and efforts without any compensation.  The money we collect sponsors the printing and mailing costs of the newsletter and allows us to be active participants in coalitions with other social justice organizations.  We have not set any particular amount for a membership fee in order to allow anyone who wishes to be an active member.  Members contribute on average $50 and many contribute $100 or more to compensate for those who cannot give at these levels.

Note: We are not a registered charity and no tax receipts are issues for your donation.  This leaves us free to speak our mind on important issues.

You can donate to CUSJ online via the Donate Button or by sending a cheque to our treasurer.  Make the cheque out to CUSJ.  We ask all our members to renew their membership once a year (Any time after April 1st) by completing the membership renewal form online (see link below) or the form on any copy of JustNews  and sending us a donation to:
