The Obama administration has at last announced that they are ending their efforts to pass the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) in Congress before President Obama leaves office. Grass-roots groups like OpenMedia announced today that they feel that, due to the economic clout of the US, this leaves almost no chance of the TPP coming into force in any other TPP signatories.
This is a victory that has been four years in the making. CUSJ participated in the movement against the TPP, and we can breathe a sigh of relief that this trade deal will not happen. This campaign was a lesson in the power of faith and perseverance.
