Request Action
Request Action
Unitarians are involved in many different social issues. If you are involved in an issue, and would like to find out what CUSJ is or is not doing on that issue, the best way to find out is to check out our listserve. Send an e-mail to our listserve manager, Joy Silver if you would like to participate. All our members post their issues of concern on the listserve, and many good discussions are generated by those postings.
If you believe strongly that we should take action on your issue as a group, you can make a request to the CUSJ Board. Because we may not have all the information and the facts about your issue, we ask that you take the time to fill out the following form:
Please take the time to think clearly about what you are asking for.
- Give us a brief summary of the issue and why it is important.
- How does the situation relate to our Unitarian principles?
- Find a good article or a couple of good websites that give more details as to why this issue is important and what it is about. Your executive is concerned that our positions be credible based on good, accurate evidence.
- Think about exactly what action you want us to take. If it is a letter, who do you want to write to. If it is participation at a meeting or with a coalition, provide us with dates and contact information.
If you give us a good briefing, we will be able to respond more effectively and in a more timely way.
We look forward to hearing from you. CUSJ is an organization for all Unitarians who concern themselves with social and justice issues. We want your involvement, and your help to make our world a better place.
